Inducted into LBPSB Wall of Fame
We’re incredibly proud to announce that CHAMPS Basketball founders, Sheldon and Jonathan Serjue, have officially been inducted into the Lester B. Pearson School Board (LBPSB) Wall of Fame. This honor recognizes their outstanding contributions to the community and their commitment to empowering youth through sports, fitness, and mentorship.
The Serjue brothers’ journey began at Laurendeau-Dunton Elementary School in LaSalle, where the supportive and inclusive environment laid the foundation for their future success. Passionate educators like Mr. and Mrs. Holder played a major role in instilling the values of perseverance and excellence.
Sheldon continued his academic path at Riverside Park High School, where his love for sports flourished under the guidance of dedicated teachers such as Mr. Humphries. His leadership and drive helped lead his team to a GMAA basketball championship.
Jonathan attended John Rennie High School, where he thrived both in the classroom and on the basketball court, with encouragement from inspiring teachers like Mr. Chin and Mr. V. His athletic talent and commitment to teamwork earned him a place on the high school basketball team in his graduating year.
These formative experiences within LBPSB schools helped shape the Serjue brothers’ personal and professional lives. Today, they are giving back through CHAMPS Basketball, a nonprofit organization dedicated to youth development through basketball programs, mentorship initiatives, and community events.
- Sheldon led a mentorship program at Pierrefonds Comprehensive High School (PCHS) in 2021, offering youth guidance on everything from discipline and leadership to life skills.
- Jonathan currently serves as a youth mentor and weight room coach at Lakeside Academy, continuing to inspire students through positive engagement and fitness.
This Wall of Fame induction is a testament not only to the Serjue brothers’ achievements but also to the impact of strong community support, passionate educators, and a school board that values student potential.
We are proud to celebrate this milestone with LBPSB and remain committed to supporting the next generation of leaders—on and off the court.
